Windows SmartScreen Warning

Windows may show a SmartScreen warning because the app is new. Here's how to proceed:

  1. Click "More info" in the SmartScreen dialog
  2. Click "Run anyway"
  3. Continue with the installation

ScreenerBot is safe but may trigger warnings as it's a newly signed application.

Data Directory

ScreenerBot stores all data in your local app data folder:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\ScreenerBot

This typically resolves to: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\ScreenerBot

To access it: Press Win+R, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\ScreenerBot and press Enter.

Step 3: Verify Installation

  1. 1
    Launch ScreenerBot

Open from the Start Menu or Desktop shortcut. The app window should appear.

  2. 2
    Access Dashboard

Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost:8080

  3. 3
    Complete Setup

Follow the initial setup wizard to configure your wallet and RPC endpoints.

Uninstalling

To uninstall ScreenerBot:

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps
  2. Find "ScreenerBot" in the list
  3. Click the menu (⋮) → Uninstall

Note: Uninstalling removes the application but keeps your data folder. Delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\ScreenerBot manually to remove all data.

Troubleshooting

"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen)

Click "More info" then "Run anyway". This warning appears because ScreenerBot is a new application and Windows hasn't seen it before.

Installation fails with permission error

Right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator". If using the MSI, you can also try: msiexec /i ScreenerBot.msi from an elevated Command Prompt.

App won't start or crashes on launch

Ensure you have the latest Windows updates installed. If the issue persists, try deleting the data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\ScreenerBot) and restarting the app.

"vcruntime140.dll was not found" or similar DLL error

The latest version of ScreenerBot automatically installs these dependencies on startup. If auto-install fails, you can download them manually:
