Fin Costello Andy Summer 4
The Police's hit single "Walking on the Moon" was released in 1979 and featured on their second album "Reggatta de Blanc". The song was written by the band's lead singer and bassist, Sting, and was inspired by the Apollo moon landings. The track features a distinctive reggae beat and a spacey, atmospheric sound created by the use of delay effects on the drums and guitar. Sting's vocals also have a dreamy, otherworldly quality that adds to the song's sense of floating weightlessly through space. "Walking on the Moon" was a commercial and critical success, reaching the top 20 in several countries, including the UK and the US. The song's memorable bass line and catchy chorus helped to establish The Police as one of the most innovative and influential bands of the era.
