Wayne County and the Electric Chairs were an American punk rock band formed in 1977, fronted by the singer and songwriter Wayne County (later known as Jayne County). In 1978, the band released their second studio album, "Storm the Gates of Heaven", which is considered to be one of their most iconic works. The album featured a mix of punk rock, glam, and garage rock influences, and showcased County's provocative and confrontational lyrics and stage presence. Some of the standout tracks from the album include "Berlin", "Max's Kansas City", and "Out of Control". 1978 was a significant year for Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, as they cemented their place as one of the most unique and influential bands in the punk rock scene of the late 1970s.
